  •  Strength:  Isaiah 26:4  (KJV) Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength:
  • Judgments:  Isaiah 33:14 (KJV)14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
  • Joy:  Isaiah 35:10 (KJV) 10 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
  • Salvation:  Isaiah 45:17 (KJV) 17 But Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.
  • Kindness:  Isaiah 54:8 (KJV) In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the Lord thy Redeemer.
  • Covenant:  Isaiah 55:3 (KJV) Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
  • Light:  Isaiah 60:19 (KJV) 19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

The sixth one of the “Everlastings” is Light….. CHRIST is that LIGHT;  HE is the LIGHT OF THE WORLD:

Psalm 27:1 (KJV) 27 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?  Isaiah 49:6 (KJV) And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.   Isaiah 60:19-20 (KJV) 19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.  20 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.  John 1:4 (KJV) In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

HIS WORD is LIGHT:  Psalm 119:105 (KJV) 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:130 (KJV) 130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

We were given a chance at that LIGHT when the Jews rejected CHRIST:  Isaiah 60:3 (KJV) And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.  Isaiah 42:6 (KJV) I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

Everyone is given a chance to come to HIS LIGHT:  John 1:9 (KJV) That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

Through HIS LIGHT we see the LIGHT, it shines on our life and reveals our true nature, a sinner lost without GOD:  Psalm 36:9 (KJV) For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. Acts 26:18 (KJV) 18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.  I Peter 2:9 (KJV) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

HIS LIGHT…..

…..shines in the worse places…..  Isaiah 58:10 (KJV) 10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:

…..gives salvation to the soul…..  II Corinthians 4:6 (KJV) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

…..is for those dead in trespasses and sin…..  Ephesians 5:14 (KJV)14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

is available in Spiritual Warfare….. Romans 13:12 (KJV) 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Thru HIM:

…..we are the children of LIGHT…..  Ephesians 5:8 (KJV) For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

 …..we are the light of the world…..  Philippians 2:15 (KJV) 15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

…..we come forth as brightness…..  Isaiah 62:1  (KJV) 62 For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.

…..as a city upon a hill….. Matthew 5:14 (KJV) 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

All our duties as believers are preformed in HIS LIGHT:

Our worship…. II Chronicles 5:13-14 (KJV) 13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.

Our works….. John 9:4 (KJV) I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

Our walk….. Ephesians 5:8 (KJV) For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

Our witness….. Philippians 2:15 (KJV) 15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Our watch….. I Thessalonians 5:5-6 (KJV) Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

HIS LIGHT is promised to the saved who are:

Obedient….. Job 22:28 (KJV) 28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.  Psalm 97:11 (KJV) 11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

Upright….. Psalm 112:4 (KJV) Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

Just….. Proverbs 4:18 (KJV) 18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Benevolent….. Isaiah 58:8 (KJV) Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.

The fifth one of the “Everlastings” is Covenant..

What is a Covenant?  An Agreement, agree, especially by lease, deed, or other legal contract, commitment, guarantee, pledge, promise, bond, engage….

Throughout the Bible, GOD made several covenants……

A Covenant was made….

with Noah to spare him and his family:  Genesis 6:17-19 (KJV) 17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. 18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee. 19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.  Genesis 9:8-10 (KJV) 8    And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;10 And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.

with every creäture about the world-wide flood, that took place in Noah’s day:  Genesis 9:15 (KJV) 15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

with Abraham about his offspring: Genesis 15:1-5 (KJV) 15 After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.  And Abram said, Lord God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?  And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.  And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.  And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.  Genesis 17:1-2 (KJV) 17 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.  2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.   …..and the land that his seed would inherit:  Genesis 15:17-18 (KJV) 17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces. 18 In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:  ……thru circumcision:  Genesis 17:13 (KJV) 13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.  Acts 7:8 (KJV) And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.  Romans 4:11 (KJV) 11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:

with Jacob about his offspring, and the land they would inherit:  Genesis 28:10-17 (KJV) And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.  11 And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.  12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.  13 And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;  14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.  15 And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.  16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not.  17 And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.

with Israel:  Psalm 105:10 (KJV) 10 And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

Covenants were made about:

where Israel is today…. Exodus 6:4 (KJV) And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers.  I Chronicles 16:17 (KJV)  17  And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,  and the side of the spiritual kingdom of GOD:  Genesis 17:2 (KJV) And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. Genesis 17:4 (KJV) As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.  Genesis 17:7 (KJV) And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.  Genesis 17:9 (KJV) And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.

the Sabbath:   Exodus 31:16 (KJV) 16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.  Leviticus 24:8 (KJV) Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the Lord continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant.

Salt:  Numbers 18:19 (KJV) 19 All the heave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer unto the Lord, have I given thee, and thy sons and thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever: it is a covenant of salt for ever before the Lord unto thee and to thy seed with thee.

Day and night:  Jeremiah 33:20 (KJV) 20 Thus saith the Lord; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;

The Ten Commandments:  Exodus 34:28 (KJV) 28 And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

Peace:  Ezekiel 37:26 (KJV) 26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.

The Everlasting Priesthood:   This was about Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron…. Numbers 25:10-13 (KJV) 10 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 11 Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.  12 Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace: 13 And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel.  (This one blesses my socks off, can you imagine being known as “zealous for his GOD” WOW!!!)

Covenants are……

Binding to those who are present and/or represented:    Deuteronomy 29:14-15 (KJV) 14 Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath; 15 But with him that standeth here with us this day before the Lord our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day: This was one interesting thing I found.  When the covenant was made between Abraham and GOD about Abrahams offspring, that GOD was there personally….  Genesis 17:14-22 (KJV) 19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. 20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.  21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.  22 And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.

Has been taken back by GOD:  Jeremiah 44:26-27 (KJV) 26 Therefore hear ye the word of the Lord, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the Lord, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord God liveth. 27 Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.  Hebrews 8:9 (KJV) Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

There is a…..

Book of Covenant:  Exodus 24:7 (KJV) And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient.

…..and a……

Blood of Covenant:  Exodus 24:8 (KJV) And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words.

Promises about….

the keeping of a covenant:  Exodus 19:5 (KJV)–A Peculiar Treasure–Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

the breaking of a covenant:  Leviticus 26:25 (KJV) 25 And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

GOD not breaking:   Leviticus 26:44 (KJV) 44 And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I am the Lord their God.

HE is faithful:  Ezekiel 16:60 (KJV) 60 Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.

Some Covenants are snares….

Exodus 34:12  (KJV) 12 Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:  Exodus 34:15 (KJV) 15 Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;

The Gospel of JESUS CHRIST…..

is the new Covenant for us…..  Jeremiah 31:31-34 (KJV) 31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Hebrews 7:14-28 (KJV) 14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.  15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, 16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.  17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.  18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.  19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.  20 And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:  21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)  22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.  23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:  24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.  25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.  26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;  27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.  28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

and will not be removed by GOD:  Isaiah 54:10 (KJV) 10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.  Jeremiah 32:40 (KJV) 40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

The Shepherd-hood of CHRIST

(I know I haven’t printed a study in a while, but for some reason GOD wouldn’t allow me too.  And HIS ways are always best followed.  This study was finished in May of this year.)

This next study is on the Shepherd-hood of CHRIST. The characteristics of a shepherd according to the bible are as follows:

HE watches over the sheep:

  •  As a Provider:  Psalms 23:1-2 (KJV) 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
  • HE Is TenderIsaiah 40:11 (KJV) 11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
  • HE Welcomes back wanderers: I Peter 2:25 (KJV) 25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
  • HE Is Faithful:  I Peter 5:4 (KJV) 4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
  • HE Is a Keeper, HE never slumbers or sleeps: Psalm 121:4 (KJV)4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
  • HE Knows the sheep: John 10:14 (KJV) 14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
  • HE Calls them:  John 10:3 (KJV) 3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
  • HE Gathers them:  Isaiah 40:11 (KJV) 11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.  John 10:16 (KJV) 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
  • HE Guides them:  Psalm 23:2-4 (KJV) He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.  3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  John 10:3-4 (KJV) 3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.  4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
  • HE Feeds them:  Psalm 23:5 (KJV) Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.  Isaiah 40:11  (KJV) 11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.  John 10:9 (KJV) I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
  • HE Protects and Preserves:  Jeremiah 31:10 (KJV) 10 Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.  Ezekiel 34:10 (KJV) 10 Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.  Zechariah 9:16 (KJV) 16 And the Lord their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land.
  • HE Has Understanding:  Isaiah 56:11 (KJV) 11 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
  • HE has given to the point of death:  John 10:11-15 (KJV) 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. 12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.  Zechariah 13:7 (KJV) Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the Lord of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.  Matthew 26:31 (KJV) 31 Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.  Acts 20:28 (KJV) 28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to  all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Below are some things my pastor told us (he didn’t know I was doing this study) about the MASTER SHEPHERD, our SAVIOUR, JESUS CHRIST:

The MASTER SHEPHERD was born in the place of shepherds, Bethlehem.  HE was a lamb without spot or blemish:  I Peter 1:19 (KJV) 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Some of the Tools of a Shepherd:

Rod:  weed eater from 2000 years ago used to weed things out, is for warfare, to defend against the enemy,  chastisement and prepares the way.

Staff: has a hook on the end of it.  Is used to draw sheep, guide sheep, lift sheep from entanglements, and rescue

Sling

Bag

Oil

Some things about the Sheep:

Are prone to wander.

Have a bad sense of direction.

Have poor eyesight and hearing.

Will die without the shepherd.

The fifth one of the “Everlastings” is Kindness..

Kindness…

GOD doesn’t forget HIS own, whether they be living or dead:  Ruth 2:20 (KJV) And Naomi said unto her daughter in law, Blessed be he of the Lord, who hath not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead. And Naomi said unto her, The man is near of kin unto us, one of our next kinsmen.

In HIS kindness,…

HE has given Salvation:   Psalm 17:7 (KJV) Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.

HE extends life:  1 Samuel 20:14 (KJV) And thou shalt not only while yet I live shew me the kindness of the Lord, that I die

HE Returned HIS people to their land:  Deuteronomy 30:3 (KJV) That then the Lord thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath scattered thee.

HIS Kindness is….

coupled with mercy…. Isaiah 54:7-8 (KJV) For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.  In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the Lord thy Redeemer.

Great….. Jonah 4:2 (KJV) And he prayed unto the Lord, and said, I pray thee, O Lord, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
used to draw us to HIM….. Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV) The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

HIS Kindness will…..

satisfy…. Jeremiah 31:14 (KJV) 14 And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the Lord.
not depart….. Isaiah 54:10 (KJV) 10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.

The fourth one of the “Everlastings” is Salvation..

Salvation…

Belongs to GOD:  Psalm 3:8 (KJV) Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.  Psalm 37:39 (KJV) 39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

is only through JESUS CHRIST:  Luke 1:69 (KJV)69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;  Luke 2:30-31 (KJV) 30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, 31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

He is…

  1. the only door:  John 10:9 (KJV) I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture
  2.  the only Saviour:  Acts 4:12 (KJV) 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
  3. the only Intercessor:  Isaiah 59:16 (KJV) 16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
  4. the only remedy for sin:  John 3:14-15 (KJV) 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
  5. the only nourishment for the soul:  John 6:35 (KJV) 35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
  6. the only source of truth:  John 6:67-68 (KJV) 67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? 68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
  7. the only Foundation on which to build your life:  I Corinthians 3:11 (KJV) 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

cannot be bought, sold, or earned…. Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

It is free for the asking…. Romans 10:13 (KJV) 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  John 4:10 (KJV) 10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. Romans 5:18 (KJV) 18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Faith secures:  John 3:15 (KJV) 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

As Christians we are clothed in Salvation:  Isaiah 61:10 (KJV) 10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.  Matthew 22:9-13 (KJV) Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.  10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.  11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:  12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? Joy …..

is an oil for mourning:  Isaiah 61:3 (KJV) To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified

is given by GOD:  Ecclesiastes. 2:26 (KJV)  26 For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

is caused by the goodness of the LORD:  I Kings 8:66 (KJV) 66 On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the Lord had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.  Job 33:26 (KJV) 26 He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.

will cause the widows heart to sing… Job 29:13 (KJV) 13 The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.

will be felt in your heartIsaiah 65:14 (KJV) 14 Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.

is one of the Fruits of the Spirit, that shows CHRIST lives in you:  Galatians 5:22 (KJV) 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Even when you don’t remember why (your memory is gone….), GOD will still give you joyEcclesiastes 5:20 (KJV) 20 For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart.

is caused by:

accepting JESUS CHRIST as your SAVIOUR!!!  Psalm 21:1 (KJV) 21 The king shall joy in thy strength, O Lord; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!  Psalm 35:9 (KJV) And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord: it shall rejoice in his salvation.  Isaiah 61:10 (KJV) 10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

putting trust in the LORD, being defended by the LORD, and by loving the LORD: Psalm 5:11  (KJV) 11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

being in HIS presence:  Psalm 16:11 (KJV) 11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

being a counselor of peaceProverbs 12:20 (KJV) 20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.

GOD putting the acceptance seal on HIS work thru you:  Ecclesiastes 9:7 (KJV) Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works.

the Harvest of Souls:  Isaiah 9:3 (KJV) Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.

returning to the LORD, if you are a prodigal son…. Isaiah 35:10 (KJV) 10 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.  Isaiah 51:11 (KJV) 11 Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

Matthew 13:20 (KJV) 20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;   Luke 8:13 (KJV) 13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

And ….

this JOY cannot be taken from you by anyone, for any reason:  John 16:22 (KJV) 22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

The Seven “Everlastings” of Isaiah (Part 2 of 7)

The next one of the “Everlastings” that I want to discuss is:

Everlasting Judgment–Everyone will face an Everlasting Judgment”.  You will either face GOD as a saved person, or a lost person (one who has rejected HIS son).

For the saved person we  will face the “Judgment seat of CHRIST”.  This judgment will judge our actions and works as we have lived in these mortal bodies.  And determine our rewards or lack thereof.  Your salvation WILL NOT, I repeat WILL NOT DEPEND ON YOUR WORKSThat decision was made when you accepted JESUS CHRIST as your SAVIOUR.   I Corinthians 3:11-15 (KJV) 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. 14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

For the lost person, you will face the “White Throne Judgment”.  It is found in Revelation 20:11-14 (KJV)11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.  12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.  13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

This judgment will be the judgment that one receives after he/she rejects JESUS CHRIST as their SAVIOUR.  It is determined the moment one chooses not to believe and accept JESUS CHRIST as their SAVIOUR.  John 3:18 (KJV) 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

The Bible is very specific about what GOD will do with those who reject HIS son.  This judgment will occur after one dies.

The final method of  this judgment is Fire:

The name of this place is called Hell:  Matthew 23:33 (KJV) 33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?  is constantly enlarging itself:   Isaiah 5:14 (KJV) 14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.

It is an eternal death caused by fire (which means you will burn forever and ever!):  Revelation 19:20 (KJV) 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

which was created by GOD for the Devil and his angels:  Matthew 25:41 (KJV) 41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

It is described in several ways as:

a Furnace of Fire, where there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth:  Matthew 13:42 (KJV) 42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.  Matthew 13:50 (KJV) 50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.  …… and torment will occur…. Revelation 14:10 (KJV) 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

a Lake of Fire Revelation 20:15 (KJV) 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

  • with Fire and Brimstone:  Revelation 14:10 (KJV) 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

an Unquenchable fire where it worm dies not:  Mark 9:44 (KJV) Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

a Devouring Fire:  Isaiah 33:14 (KJV) 14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

  • where you will have all your senses, like sight…. Luke 16:23 (KJV) 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
  • speech , hearing, touch, taste,….Luke 16:24-26 (KJV)24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

In the Bible, Jesus speaks that it would be better to go thru life without a limb (leg arm, hand, etc.) than to go there:  Matthew 18:8 (KJV) Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.  Mark 9:45 (KJV) 45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

But dear friend, you can escape this horrible judgment….  JESUS made a way of escape for you through HIM!!!  COME TO JESUS DEAR FRIEND!!!

Here is what you need to do to escape…..

  • Realize that you are a sinner and that you are in need of a SAVIOUR.  That JESUS CHRIST cared enough for you to DIE for YOU!!!  Romans 5:6, 8 (KJV) For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.    We are all sinners…. Romans 3:23 (KJV) 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  The definition of a sinner is: somebody who commits sin: somebody who commits a sin or who habitually does wrong, 1. One that sins or does wrong; a transgressor. 2. A person who sins; transgressor, person who commits moral wrongs.
  • The wages for this sinful life is death, as listed above:  Romans 6:23 (KJV) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
  • Confess this to GOD from your heart,  that you know you are a sinner, and ask HIM to forgive you…   Romans 10:9-10 (KJV) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  and ask HIM into your heart as LORD and SAVIOUR of your life…..  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  Romans 10:13 (KJV) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. ….
  • Dear friend if you have done these steps, as true and honestly as you can…. Welcome to the family of GOD.  Please drop me a e-mail at jacobsmom8@frontier.com, helpstracts@hotmail.com, or scripturalthoughts@gmail.com so that we can send you some information about beginning your life in JESUS and  rejoice with you……

The Seven “Everlastings” of Isaiah (Part 1 of 7)

The first one of the “Everlastings” that I want to discuss is:

Strength thru our LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST: PRAISE THE LORD!!!  How many times in life, has HE in HIS mercy, extended that strength to help us bear the burdens of this life….. In my life, too many to tell, thru death, sickness, divorce and many others that I can’t even begin to count…..  PRAISE HIS NAME!!!  GOD IS GOOD!!!

Some things about the HIS Strength:

  • HE is the source of all strength:  I Chronicles 29:12 (KJV) 12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
  • HE is the strength of our heart,….. Psalm 73:26 (KJV) 26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.  and HE will ‘strengthen (renew) thine heart” when you wait on HIM.  Do you ever have times that you just want to quit?  I know I do.  When you have those feeling just learn to “wait”.  HE IS FAITHFUL!!!….. Psalm 27:14 (KJV) 14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
  • HE makes our ways perfect:  II Samuel 22:33  (KJV) 33 God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.
  •  Protects in battle, look at this verse.  This happened in David’s war days…. Imagine how well HE will take care of you in the battles of life….. :  II Samuel 22:30 (KJV) 30 For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.
  • HE is the strength of our life:  Psalm 27:1 (KJV) 27 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
  • HELP in trouble:  Psalm 46:1 (KJV) 46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
  • In spiritual warfare, in going to church, to hear the word preached….. I know in my life, hearing a good spirit-filled, hard-nosed, preacher helps me more than anything:  Psalm 20:2 (KJV) Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;
  • HIS Strength is made perfect in our weakness:  II Corinthians 12:9 (KJV) And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. II Timothy 4:17 (KJV) 17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
  • We can do all things thru HIS strength.  Nothing in HIS will is impossible.  HE IS ON OUR SIDE!!!….. Philippians 4:13 (KJV) 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Something to think about…..

Ephesians 4:14 (KJV) That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

It seems to me, that the church has two major problems that is rampant. The bible speaks of being tossed to and fro carried about with every wind of doctrine, in other words confusion. Something I have witnessed especially in the last few years, is the same thing goes for gossip. It is amazing how people no longer have the ability to keep their mouth shut about people. Or want to learn what the truth is, or what saith the LORD….. It is what says my neighbor…… I know of several women that are going through a divorce, that know that they are discussed. One whom has about quit the church…. I witness one woman telling about her, and she was sitting two seats away….. What is wrong with this picture? Are we not suppose to care enough to keep those things that we know about people to ourselves? Have we gotten sooooo cold, that the next persons troubles don’t matter any more, unless it is for discussion? Is this GOD’s will? I don’t think so…. We are to lift each other up……not tear each other down….. and gossip is a prime way to tear someone down…..

Another thing I have noticed in the church today, is the importance of facebook in our lives….. I love facebook. I visit several times a day. But when it gets to the point that you start noticing whether you are important enough to follow or not, I think you have a problem. We have to have our pats on the back, think people care (which they do), when really the devil has everyone in such a turmoil, just getting thru the day, that maybe that person don’t have the time, or the energy to deal with you. Are you in such a turmoil yourself, that all you think about is yourself? and your feelings? Does pride rule in your life so much that you have to be praised…..? Just something to think about……
